The DL, weekend of the 22nd

I haven't posted in a little so I'm writing this to update things a little, on a personal level. This weekend I went to a Heineken sponsored event & it was actually pretty fantastic. I saw a performance from a Hip Hop artists, who I think is Portugese, her name was Zuzuka. She got a chick to go up on stage and dance with her, the chick actually ended up taking her pants off and dancing in her bikini bottom. There were also performances by Los Rakas, a Peruvian duo via California which was the reason behind me going. I ended up liking Zuzuka's performance better. The event was ended early, about 11:30, so I was looking for something else to do. No one I was with was up for it though, so I just shot some street photos on my way home.

My younger brother, Jason's, birthday was Saturday (yesterday) and he wanted to celebrate by have a couple friends over. Thats basically what I was doing, between setting up, BBQing and entertaining people I was occupied all day. Earlier in the day I filled up some water balloon and attacked everyone with them, very fun. Among all the people that came to the BBQ, I met a guy that does Cancer research in NYC. Had a very intellegent conversation about stem cells and Cancer related things with him, pretty great. I also met a promoter, which opened up some job opportunities for me shooting events, also great.

Today, I'm hanging out with family near the Delaware Water Gap, & today is only about half way through. So that's where I leave you guys where we're at. Don't say I never gave you nothing. Photos & more updates on projects soon.

Why Do I Stay Up Late?

My creativity strikes at night. What can I say? They are some random drawings I drew tonight from 1ish until now (3AM). I might be a night owl.

Cleaned my Desk

Some needed cleaning went down today. I threw away old, unecessary papers & I put some shelves up also. Now to you guys, this might still look like a mess, this shit is super organized to me. I wish I would've taken a before picture to show you. I also framed my Baron Wolman photo I got a while back, so all in all, my little office corner thingy got better.

Select Start Vintage

Select Start is a Etsy store I opened up a little bit ago. When I stop at flea markets & thrift shops & find cool shit, I put them up on the store. Sharing the love, you know? I have a bunch of clothes I need modeled to, so if you're into modeling clothes you should shoot me a email.

What started off as a store, turned into a fashion blog of sorts, then that turned into a twitter.

You can peep the store at http://selectstart.etsy.com -- I just put some new stuff on there today, and it would be cool of you to favorite the store on Etsy. The Twitter -- @selectstrtgetup & the blog -- http://selectstartvintage.tumblr.com/

Right now, the activity is light, but it'll start getting heavier as time goes on. I hope it turns out great.

Scream Zone in Coney Island

My parents invited me to go to Coney Island with them today. I had plans to do some street shooting and go to the MET, but instead I put those plans aside & went along with them. I gotta say, I don't regret my choice at all. Once we got there, I made a b line to the Sling Shot, which was crazy because I had never been on it before, but always admired it's stature. My favorite, though, was the screams that always came from the ride. In case you can't picture what the Sling Shot is, here's a photo.

Now that you know what it is, check out the video of me and my brother on this thing. I loved it.

UPDATE: FAMELESS MEDIA

Some updates on what I've been up to in terms of FAMELESSZINE & Fameless Radio Show;

I completely repacked and re-imagined the magazine. It now comes in 8.5'' X 5.5'' physical version. The first issue feature a excellent writer named Stephanie Zander which i stumbled upon through Tumblr. She's really cool and super talented. It also has this awesome secret crafts project that involves small white paper, pretty much a prep how-to to get people ready for future how to. It's up on Etsy & you can pick a copy up here - http://etsy.me/moD3Kz

also, from now on I'm going to be submitting them to the Kindle and Nook stores. Amazon's Kindle was a little speedier with their approval submissions and it's available now on Amazon Kindle store. I'm really excited about this one, because now it's up for grabs on your Kindle, iPhone, iPad and Android phone. You can grab a copy here. One thing I must mention before you pick it up at Amazon is that if you buy the physical copy on Etsy, you get a PDF copy of the magazine for free, so pick your poison. eBook version here - http://amzn.to/ksxxYr

In terms of music, there's a link to a mix tape in all zine versions. Awesome. Besides that, I release The Fameless Radio Show which you can subscribe to on iTunes. BAM! Another things I'm crazy excited for. If you don't fuck with iTunes, it's OK. The Two latest episode will be up on SoundCloud. Don't fuck with SoundCloud? They're all available on the tumblr!

I'm fucking excited about all of these things and I hope after reading and listening you guys will be too. These will come out monthly.

Two Things I Want in the Relatively Near Future

On Wednesday, I went to a Kid Cudi concert at the Williamsburg Waterfront aka East River State Park. I had a great time, what an awesome venue. I loved how ope it was, the view at dawn pretty much everything. As I observed my surroundings, I spotted the buildings next door to the venue. First of all, when I saw them, I loved the architecture. That wasn't my favorite thing about them though. The fact that they were so close to the venue and that you could see any show taking place from just the balcony. It looked amazing to me. So at that moment, I decided that's where I'm aspiring to live. I've made up my mind and no one's going to change it. I took some photos but I need to develop them, which I'll do in a couple days when I've exhausted a couple more rolls of film.

This is a screen grab is from Google Maps. Apparently they're relatively new.

The Next thing I fantasize about are "cafe racers." Earlier today I caught this post that someone I follow on tumblr posted. I followed it to it's source, and discovered this blog. The guy behind that blog owns that bike. I completely fell in love with it the second I saw it.

BOOM! Those are going to be my mid-long term goals from now on. Just thought I'd share that with you guys.
